We take pride in providing Maquoketa with safe, reliable power.
To keep our neighborhoods and community safe, Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility crews will be trimming trees and cleaning other vegetation from electric facilities including overhead lines and underground equipment. This is critical to the reliability of the electric system and safety of our customers and employees.
When is this taking place?
Tree trimming will take place from January through April.
- Utility crews are currently trimming in Zone 1 & 5.
- See the Zone maps below to know what zone you are in.
- Additional Zones will be trimmed if time permits.
- Crews will return to pickup any branches left at the curb.
If you have a tree that is near power lines and would like it removed, give us a call and someone will take a look at it.
Why trim trees?
Because reliability is our number one priority. Trees, shrubs, fences and other obstructions that are in the work zone can create unsafe working conditions and add time to an outage situation.
